The 9 die-hards who came out despite the rain we had all day were rewarded with good riding conditions. The rain stopped in plenty of time and the circuit was almost completely dry by the start, except for a couple of puddles here and there. Unfortunately, Pat slid out after he went through one of those puddles and then took the corner a bit hard, so now he has some road rash to brag about. But no lasting harm done - Pat took his crash lap and hopped back in and contested every sprint.
Apart from that little incident, it was a fun ride - we had a couple of solid groups that stuck together well and gave us some good fast pack riding, even with nine people. And I had a great time - much as I enjoyed my two-person TT with Sebastien a couple of weeks ago, riding in a group this week was even better.
The results are interesting this week. All of the sprints were hotly contested - notice the tight spread between 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots.
And thanks a million to Billy and Alison for being the finish judges - that meant that Kelly and I could both ride!
