Crit Safety - Aero Bars
Please note that aero bars are not permitted in the crits. It is not enough to promise not to ride in the aero bars - you cannot have them on your bike. This is an issue of safety; crashes are more common in crits than in other road events, and aero bars can spear another rider if you go down. This rule will be strictly enforced.

We should get together for beers again and discuss how to form this into an overall points series with handicaps etc. Also, seeing as how this is all part of our club initiative to promote the sport of cycling and promote healthy living, I suggest that we increase the reg. fee to a mandatory $5 and donate the extra $3 to a charity of the winners chosing. A few OSB members are thinking of doing a ride from Fredericton to Woodstock to raise money for cancer (see Smoothie's posting on OSB's blog). We could plan to donate the $3 portion to help their cause. Maybe if we get 5 OSB members or more participating, we could even donate 100% of reg. fees this time as a way to encourage more rider turnout. Moving forward, we could even say the club with the highest rider turnout could pick the charity for the $$. A good way to kill 2 birds. Help raise awareness of the sport and raise money for a charity close to our hearts.
