4 Week MTB race Series - Race #1

Hey guys,

Norm let me borrow last year's crit blog for this mountain bike series. I'll post every week's race on here as well as on Facebook. I'm still getting a hang of this site and the Facebook page, so if there are any questions, feel free to email me at adam.douthwright@rogers.com.

Ok, so it's a 4 week series. The first race is this Thursday, June 24th at 6:30pm. The following 3 will all be on Wednesdays at the same time. I'll mark a different course every week and we'll race it for 1:00:00. Same concept as these 4 or 5hr enduro races, except it's only 1hr. As long as you get across the finish before 1hr, you can start your next lap. Individual and overall series standings will be determined by a complex handicap structure (which I'm still trying to get from Luc at the ACC).

So, you'll need insurance. Either proof of your VeloNB race licence or a $30 general membership available at the Radical Edge. Please bring this with you on the first week so I can verify you have it. You MUST have this before race day if you want to participate. Besides that, just bring a twoonie every race and show up 15-30 minutes before to sign up. You obviously need a helmet to participate, but for any youngsters and beginners, extra protection would be a good idea. Some of the courses are technical and could be slippery so long fingerred gloves, knee and elbow protectors would be useful.

Race #1 - Marysville Place parkinglot 6:30pm. Show up early to register and race leaves parkinglot at 6:30pm sharp. It's warm in the woods these days, so bring some water. It's self supported, so bring your flat repair kit. Don't forget your membership forms and $2.
